I think . . . .

Hopefully, you'll get a pretty good idea

of what you might have missed

out on--WOWEE!!!

If you did spend Sunday with all of us, we thank

you most sincerely . . . as YOU are the

reason we keep following our

hearts, no matter what!

It's the LOVE!

Well, maybe if I'm truly honest with myself,

there could be just a touch of

artistic insanity?!

Nevertheless, it's a joy to know others share

in this journey, it's hardships and

happiness, as well as a

desire to please

YOU!!!

The journey can sometimes be rough, and we all

connect with each other through these

difficult moments. But, in the

end, there is always the

elation of a job

well done.

If our efforts please and excite you, and your happiness

translates into the beauty we bring into your

lives and homes . . . then we are

truly at peace, making a

living with real

joy!!!

It takes people with some serious drive, talent and vision

to pull this off show after show. Customers'

expectations these days are very

high, and we feel very

bad if we miss

the mark.

Your feedback, support and encouragement mean far

more than words can express, so please

stay in touch with your thoughts,

expectations and ideas!

The beauty shown in these photos can't begin

to reflect on the true treasures these

hard-working vendors are

as people.

We may not be perfect, but we all try very

hard to please our customers!

Wish I had time to say more about the terrific vendors and

fabulous merchandise, but I've got only one day

left to regroup for the Lynden Show!

Sand Point Antique & Design Market this Sunday!

* * * Prepare for this Autumnal FEAST * * *

industrial furniture & lighting, farm antiques, scary *hospital* gurney,

wire baskets, galvanized goodies, chunky old glass (including domes!)

crates, Halloween frights, chandies, bowls for candies,

old porcelain glove molds, turkey feathers, clocks,

heads, arms, silver trays, budoir lamps (1920's),

architectural salvage, *crowning glory* antique ale sign from

jolly old England, bird cages, old fishing creels, stools, clocks,

wagons, old tools . . . something for EVERYONE!!

Early buying is at 8:00 AM--set your alarm clock!!!!!!

* * * the wisdom of a children's book * * *

Having trouble concentrating today. Know I should be packing

for Sand Point Show this weekend, but somehow just

keep getting distracted. This children's

book wouldn't let go of me, and

now I know why!

While reading or scanning each antique book for sale--I'm fascinated by the

incredible level of detail, gorgeous depictions . . . especially in

children's books. This pop-up book is truly

extraordinary! As children, we're

encouraged to dream, even

fantasize. I have

trouble letting myself go, convinced

of all the *adult* things that must be accomplished.

Frankly, I wonder if my guard is down that I won't do a darned thing!!

When in *task master* mode, I'm convinced it's the way to

achieve my goals. But, is it . . . really?!

The magnificent absurdity of this book is reminding me

of the self-inflicted absurdity of my occasional (?)

O.C.D. Am I *enjoying* the journey?

Being a results-oriented person,

maybe not. so. much.

Continuing the distraction of this charming book, the truth literally

*lept* from the pages with this pop-up . . . .

Please read the wisdom of children's poetry from 100 years ago (!)

. . . and we *pavement hawkers* think we're so

original and unique. I dedicate

this post to all my hard-working friends in the biz

(you know who you are--too many to list!).

This diversion has made me very happy . . . hope it brought the light of

recognition and connection for you as well, pavement buds!

Now I can return to packing . . . a great

deal cheerier!!

* * * Gordon Skagit Farms PUMPKINS!! * * *

Since early childhood, nothing speaks *autumn* to me

as much as the pumpkin! It's totally

my favorite shape from nature,

the more ribbed/fluted

the better!!

My favorite *pumpkin patch* is Gordon Skagit Farms on

McLean Road in the Burlington/Mount Vernon area.

From heirloom pumpkins, to gourds, to squash,

to Indian corn, to corn stalks, to great

Halloween displays, this is a

must stop in Skagit

Valley!!!!

The beauty of the valley is the perfect backdrop

for this 30+ year institution in the

farm country.

Eddie inherited the farm from his parents and carries on

with this historical gem, adding his own

special touch with HUGE oil

paintings sprinkling the

grounds.

His talent is awe-inspiring--just look at these scenes!!

Giclee prints will be available soon of these

local masterpieces, so keep in

touch with the farm.

Who doesn't LOVE white pumpkins?!!!!

Check out this GIGANTIC, gorgeous tree!!

I could have stayed all day, absolutely spell-bound by all the

eye-candy . . . if you want to get into the Halloween

spirit, this is your ticket--take the whole

family and be sure to get some

fresh apple cider!!!

. . . what more can I say . . . heavy SIGH!!!!!!

* * * The Shed Harvest Gathering * * *

I dropped in to visit Shirley Fletcher at The Shed yesterday and

got a preview of her fabulous sale! (Well, actually

I had the date wrong, but she let me

in--thanks, Shirl!!!!)

These photos just don't do these fantastic displays justice

(battery on camera died, so this is cell phone)!

But you can certainly see there are

abundant items in this

harvest sale!

I totally regret not grabbing this darling hand-made white

jack-o-lantern with button eyes!!

Charm is everywhere . . . and now I'm soooo in

the mood for autumn festivities!

You've gotta, gotta go

to The Shed!!
