a bit of * Vintage Bliss * bliss . . . .

Just getting started at *Vintage Bliss* in Conway.

Denise calls her shop "A vintage emporium

of fabulous things", and I'm happy to

be part of that fabulousness!

Never having done a space in the center of a shop before, this

is a new challenge.  Will take a bit of time before it

becomes the way I like.  But here's a little

peek at what's developing . . . .

Getting the *structure* in place will take a bit of experimentation.

But it's a lot of fun, and I just love being closer

to home.  Conway is just 30 minutes

south of Bellingham.

I have some vintage, French-style furniture at really

great prices . . . so come take a look!!

Antique, decoupaged screens from the Victorian era are just

incredible . . . how I hate to part with them!!

Over the next few weeks, I'll be updating you with more of

my new finds . . . some GREAT stuff

is coming soon!!!

Our next stop is 2nd Saturdayz Urban Market in Seattle

at Warren G. Magnuson Park (in the

Workshop, as always).

* AUGUST 13 *

We've missed our friends and customers there and look forward

to a happy reunion!!  With a few big shows behind

us, it's time to ENJOY the more intimate

surroundings of our favorite

local shows!!!

P.S.  Please be sure to stop by Ruffles & Rust
Square in Snohomish for my big sale!!

. . . . . Dancing by *Moon* Light . . . . .

This beauty is Moon Mullens . . . proprietress of Rose Hill Manor

bed and breakfast of Index, Washington.  We were

invited to her annual summer soiree, and

what an event it was--even in the

RAIN (what summer?!)!!

Word of caution:  Have plenty of napkins handy to

catch the drool off your chin!!!

Moon has created garden *rooms* that left me feeling

absolutely captivated . . . and happily so!

Statues and fountains and gates . . . oh, my!!

Birdhouses and fences and patio tables . . . oh my!!!

Concrete and brick and iron . . . oh my!!!

Inside the house . . . you will be transported yet again!!!

Moon has been a great customer of mine over the years.

I can't say how rewarding it is to see treasures

from my trove included in her stunning

vignettes.  Her combinations

are so artistic, no?!

Hold on a minute . . . sorry, I needed that napkin!!!

Chandelier LOVE!!!  Moon is not

afraid of color--she's a

genius at mixing

things up!

At the same time, she manages to create soft, serene

spaces within feet of the color spots.  WOW!

I could't resist capturing these darling little girls.  Antique chair

and Apple iPad . . . but of course!!!!

. . . beyond adorable!!!

Mountain and forest views from the windows,

perfectly framed-in-vintage everywhere!

This Chinese lamp with lace thrown over the

shade is fascinating at night!

Words not needed whatsoever . . . !

After the gardens, the house tour, the exquisite food and

fabulous punches (in antique bowls of course),

the music brought down the house!

Sorry no picture of Beth Whitney (acoustic), but this

photo is 20 Riverside--I couldn't sit still!!

Moon and Marvin, THANKS SO MUCH for an absolutely

unforgettable evening.  We loved being with you!!

Ormolulu @ Portland Expo: HALL E . . . Row H (for happy!), 43 & 44

in Portland, Oregon, is THIS WEEKEND!!!!  Here

are just a few snippets of what we'll be

bringing to the party!!!!!

.   .   .  and what a party it will be!!!!

With over 1,000 vendors,

we're ready for the

competition!

Palmer-Wirfs is one of the (sadly) few true antiques

shows left in the Pacific Northwest!!!

My "first love" is (and always has been)  "REAL antiques",

with "REAL" age, with "REAL" patina!    But I'm also

extremely fond of the decorative arts that

include a mix of a more VINTAGE-

inspired and *repurposed*,

cool, merchandise!!!

This is an extremely exciting (and challenging) time in the

antiques/vintage/decorative marketplace . . .

and I have NO intention of becoming

a dinosaur!  Staying on top of

the *game* is harder

than ever .  .  .

But we continue to evolve at Ormolulu vintage!!

Something is here for everyone--from the

curated collector--to the young

interior designer . . .  !

Please come and take a look this Saturday

and Sunday in beautiful Portland,

Oregon . . . my very, very

FAVORITE city!!!

Ruffles & Rust Square - July update

I stopped by Ruffles and Rust Square to add a few summer

items, just before the Fourth of July

weekend . . . .

Garden Shed sign, galvanized *concrete* pails (heavy),

STUNNING, wrought iron/glass console

table . . . great garden style!!

The CUTEST, vintage, white wrought iron table and chairs

. . . with strawberries (made in Italy)!!!

A tall, metal "trellis" shelf . . . great for indoors

or on the patio or porch . . . vintage

bloat float/fenders, etc.!!

Hope you and your family enjoy an

explosively FUN 4th!!!

. . . a very happy birthday, indeed!!!

Today was a quiet, simple, happy day!!!

With a hectic show schedule, there just wasn't much time to

celebrate my birthday, so I chose carefully . . . .

I've wanted to visit "The Passionate Home" in Langley, B.C., after

catching a post on Carrie's shop after The Farm Chicks
Show in Spokane, Washington.  Carrie and her

friends had a GREAT time in Spokane,

and I just knew I had to meet

her in person . . . so

glad I did!!

The next 5 photos are also of Carrie's shop . . . I

just KNOW you're drooling

. . . aren't you?!!!

Because MY birthday is also CANADA's birthday, it was

waaaay too busy for me up north, so we actually

headed straight back to Bellingham to

enjoy an early dinner here:

Giuseppe's Italian Restaurant is every bit as good

as it looks . . . it's even on Bellingham

Bay with a gorgeous view

of all the yachts!

What a life . . . what a sweet celebration of my life!!!

Thank you Jim for a very special day!!!!!

My heart is full of gratitude:  for all the sweet friends who wished

me well today, for my generally good health, for being

able to do what I dearly love, and for the sweet

and gentle man next to me.  Today I

breathe deeply and exhale.
